to Celebrate French Textiles!
We will spend a week in the French countryside
staying at the magical Chateau Dumas
and then four days in Paris! C'est la vie!
Lisa Binkley, fiber and embroidery artist, will teach Hand-Stitching on Heirloom Fabrics and Vintage Linens while at Chateau Dumas. There will be time to relax and enjoy the Chateau and it's surroundings.
And, we will explore the markets in St. Antonin-Noble-Val and visit the ancient city of Albi.
Then on to Paris to immerse ourselves in the exquisite and historic textiles of the past and present, shop famous haberdasheries and the flea markets plus tour the Musée Jouy de Toile in the city of Versailles, and a dinner cruise on the River Seine! Belles vacances!
In Paris we'll have an embroidery workshop with haute couture embroider Rebecca Devaney. This will be held at Au Ver à Soie, the world's leading silk thread distributor, which is an exclusive opportunity with Rebecca as they are closed to the public. Plus Rebecca owns Textile Tours of Paris and she will be our guide for the haberdasheries and flea markets!
