A once-in-lifetime trip that I got to do twice!
I’ve been to Chateau Dumas with Sew and Sew retreats twice now, and it has been a magical experience. The setting is lovely, the instructors have been wonderful, the textile studio is really well-equipped, the food is spectacular, and the small groups have been delightful.

"The retreat exceeded my expectations, and my expectations were really high!"

What a wonderful trip! The time at Chateau Dumas was…magical. I mean seriously, a French chateau!! The food was both beautiful and delicious. And I LOVED the teacher and the time spent in the studio! It was equipped with everything I needed to create. Linda curated the outings, workshops, and free time perfectly.
The second week was in Paris, which I’ve been to before but never with a textile focus. Everything we did was new to me. The workshop there was fantastic too! Plus going to all the haberdasheries and the flea market was really fun — I NEVER would have found them on my own! The exclusive access to shop owners and fantastic teachers, brought in from all over, was truly special.
The whole experience far exceeded my expectations. And I met some amazing people on this retreat that I expect will become lifelong friendships. And several of the others were on their second Sew & Sew retreat! My only advice is to keep plenty of space in your luggage for all of the beautiful ribbon, buttons, and fabrics you just won’t find anywhere else. Excited to dive into my new projects!
’ll definitely be booking another trip!

"I love the way the trip was curated. Just the right blend of activity and then time to be creative.
It was perfect."

This is the first time I took advantage of going on a Sew and Sew retreat. It was nothing short of fantastic. I have followed the retreats for sometime, always wishing I could go. This time Linda sent out an email saying there were cancellations and spots were available.
Linda Sweek is amazing. She helped guide me through the whole process so I could take part in the trip. We had a zoom meeting so we could meet the group and go through the details of the retreat.
The chateau is lovely!!! I had a private room. Our host took care of everything. We had a chef who cooked the most delicious food and served “aperitifs every evening at 6:30.
The sewing part was very good. Our teacher, Deborah Boschert was knowledgeable and patient, even with a novice like me. I quilt and embroider but not abstract work. One day it clicked and it was fun.
There was a group of us who would go to the workshop in the evening to do a bit more. Linda was in the group. I am new to stamping on anything much less fabric, and watched what she did. She helped me a lot.

A great fun experience!
Need a great girls trip with creativity, fabulous food and all happening in a French chateau? This is the trip for you. I went on my own ,made new friends, mastered French knots in class and ate fabulous French food. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
