Closure, and an Opening
This summer we buried my parents. My brother’s family traveled from Washington to Wisconsin to celebrate Mom and Dad’s life and finally reunite them in eternity. After a beautiful memorial at Lake Michigan, it was time to blend my brother’s and my family into one. The “Second Fiber Arts Biennale: Wisconsin State of the Art” opened with a celebration in mid-July at the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts and Fiber Arts (WMQFA). It was a wonderful experience to see the full Peacock Quilt displayed in all of its glory and to intermingle with the other artists and “ooh and ah” over everyone’s fiber art. Fabric Bowls
Making coiled fabric bowls is a textile project I love. Bowls are something different and artsy. There is a peaceful rhythm to making them and yet it's fun too.
